Hello my lovelies and my fellow TIU Team Members!

This announcement could not have come at a better time! My favourite workout ladies, Karena & Katrina from Tone It Up, just released the start date of the Annual Bikini Series for 2015this upcoming Monday April 13th! I am so excited and this will be a much needed push to keep my focus and move through some difficult times ahead (more on that below).

The first step of this challenge is to write out your top 5 goals and where you want to be at the start of summer. So, here are mine!

♥ Goal 1 – 10 Push-ups on my toes!  

This has been a recurring goal of mine, mostly because I have yet to achieve it! I want to be able to do 10 full push-ups on my toes with perfect form. I can barely do one full perfect push-up right now so I have a long way to go, but building upper body strength is high on my priority list! If you have any good tips to help me reach this goal, please share in a comment down below!

♥ Goal 2 – Feel good rocking a bikini, with no shame!

This is all about self-esteem, and not about perfection. Regardless of where I am on my fitness journey, I want to rock a bikini this summer and feel good about doing it. Even if there is some jiggle, cellulite, scars, or imperfections, I want to feel happy and healthy – no matter what anyone else thinks! For so many years, I have felt incredibly self-conscious whenever I put on a swimsuit. It ends this year! I want to wear one for me and to show off all the hard work and love that I have put into my body and myself over the last year. I want to show myself forgiveness and acceptance – the same amount that I would give other women. I don’t think I can do that yet, so I have the next 8 weeks to get there!

♥ Goal 3 – Find a new home and make my own oasis!

If you watched my latest Tea Vlog, you know that I am currently staying in Kitchener to help out my family. I am not sure if this move is temporary, permanent, or where I will end up over the next few months, but it would be awesome to have a better idea by the start of this summer. I may go back to Ottawa, I may end up moving back to the Toronto, Guelph or K/W area, but right now there are many uncertainties and decisions that need to be made. No matter where I end up, I want it to be a sanctuary and oasis. A positive space for me to be happy, healthy, and feel good about myself. I might not have it by the end of summer, but if I can visualize it and start planning, that would be good enough for me! If I can’t get to that point in the next 8 weeks, then I also need to find a way to embrace the uncertainty and go with the flow – which is not something that comes easy to me! Anxiety always creeps in, as do worries about the future. This goal is about being present, being confident in my own decisions and abilities, and making choices that reflect what I think is best for me. It is okay to be a little selfish sometimes when you are finding your own path to happiness and self love. If you can send any positive vibes my way, it would be much appreciated! <3

♥ Goal 4 – Use my bike as a more frequent mode of transportation!

Last fall, I bought a bike. That bike has sat unused in storage ever since. A big factor was the weather, since I obviously wasn’t going to start biking in the winter, but there were some nice days where I had no excuses and still didn’t take that bike out for a spin. I want to use the bike and use it often this summer – hopefully starting in the spring to get in some of my Bikini Series #100bysummer miles! Not only would travelling by bike be good for my health and get in some extra workout time, but it is also so good for the earth and reduces my environmental footprint. Hopefully, as part of Goal #3, I can find a place to live that is walkable and bike friendly!

♥ Goal 5 – Love myself and be confident in who I am, as well as who I want to be.

This is not an easy goal and captures so many different aspects of my life, and the dreams I have for myself. As I mentioned above, there are going to be some difficult times and decisions ahead. I am recently single, with a four year relationship coming to a sad end. I am also considering a career change and a change in location. I will also be dealing with some big family changes, with a sick relative that has been given a fatal cancer prognosis. With all these big changes, there is a lot of risk, a lot of emotion, and a lot of fear. But, as Karena and Katrina said in their video, with risk comes the potential for big rewards. You have to be uncomfortable in order to change. I started this blog and my Youtube channel with the desire to learn more about myself, help others, and make a difference. To help inspire people to make a change in their own life. Well, now it is time for me to lead by example and figure out who I am, what I want to do with my life, and the kind of person I want to be. Once I make these decisions, I have to stand behind them and show myself the love and confidence that I deserve, that will push me to reach for the stars to turn my dreams into reality.

Cliché? Yes. Possible? Absolutely.

I need to be present and I need to experience whatever opportunities and emotions come my way. It will be hard and it will be messy, but all I can do is stay positive and hope that in the end it will all be worth it. It is all part of the larger journey and goal of loving myself, feeling happy, healthy and strong. I might not get there in 8 weeks, but I want to use this time to push myself and find the motivation to stay focused and keep moving forward.

Needless to say, I am incredibly excited for the start of this series because it means so much more to me than losing weight. It is about finding happiness and treating myself right!
