Hello my lovelies,
This post is a long time overdue! Way back in May, I signed up for the #GreenBeautySwap organized by Ria – another green beauty blogger over at www.naturiabeauty.com (If you want to read the original post, click here to check it out!). I got matched up with Morgan Hart from www.blushingwit.com and we agreed to a budget of $50 to send each other some green and natural makeup and skincare products! Morgan is a recent green beauty convert who lives in the United States, and I was so excited to introduce her to some local Canadian-made products from some of my favourite brands like NBW, Earth to Body, and Pure Anada! If you want to see the goodies I bought for Morgan, you can click here to read her blog post!
The box arrived a few weeks ago and I wanted to share with you the unboxing of the products that she sent me! They are all brands that I had never heard of before, so some very new products for me (yay!). I will be trying them over the next few months so please let me know if you want to see any follow-up reviews and I can let you know what I think!
Here we go!
Unfortunately, this product leaked a little in transit, but there is still plenty left for me to try out! Morgan says that Meow Meow Tweet is one of her favourite brands and this gentle cleanser doubles as a makeup remover. The ingredients look great (totally natural, made up mostly of various oils) and it is vegan! It has a fairly strong herbal scent (probably because of the essential oil ingredients). I was also happy to see that the products from this brand are made in New York, USA. Looks like we both had the same local theme in mind! 🙂
This vegan lip balm is Morgan’s “favourite lip balm ever”, and she says it is incredibly hydrating. Once again, the ingredients on this product look great and it is truly unscented for those of you who are sensitive to scents! I gave it a quick swipe over my lips and it is does feel velvety soft. A girl can never have too many lip balms!
I have become obsessed with facial oils in the last month or so and was so excited to see this as part of the box! The ingredients look great and it has a really pleasant herbal scent.
I told Morgan that I struggle with finding really good facial products because of my constant battle with dryness and acne. This face cream is vegan friendly (tested on “French girls” according to the label – hehe) and has a very pure ingredient list. Once again, this is a brand I haven’t tried before, but Morgan is a big fan of their products! It says it is 92% organic and once again made in the USA. The cream is nice and thick, and you can definitely smell the cocoa butter inside – it is wonderful! I am so excited to try it. 😀
Morgan is like me and loves multi-use products! I was really happy when I saw it was a vanilla scent (my favourite smell), but the rose scent is actually the stronger odour of the two. I did a quick test swatch on my hand and you can see it is a very light, sheer orangey red colour which goes really well with my skin tone! Once again, the ingredients list looks great. Morgan did such a good job picking out these products! She clearly knows her stuff.
This is another one of Morgan’s favourite brands, which is made in small batches in Brooklyn, NY. She says that the French Clay soap is gentle enough for dry skin (which we both have!), and can be used for both body and face, while the Charcoal is better for oily skin and as an all around body cleanser. Not only do these soaps have awesome ingredients, but they are wrapped in seed paper which can be planted and grown into wildflowers! What an awesome bonus – two gifts in one! 🙂
I am so happy and excited to try out everything she sent! Personal swaps like this are so much fun when you are matched with someone who cares just as much as you do about the ingredients inside your products. I also love how Morgan took the time to find products well suited for my challenging dry skin needs! I highly recommend checking out her blog – especially if you like to see a lot natural product reviews. 🙂 Click here to see her unboxing of all the goodies I sent!
Have you tried any of these products or brands before? Let me know! I would love to hear what you think.
See you all soon!
